Why can pistol versions of rifles be imported, but the original rifle configuration can’t?
Because there is no limit to the size of a pistol and the “sporting purpose” test is different.
Why can’t we import a .380 Glock such as the Glock 25 or 28?
Because the Glock 25 and 28 fail to meet the required import points with ATF.

Are gas masks import controlled?
Yes, they are considered Implements of War and require ATF approval to import them.
Why is the seller quoting shipping for much less than TXMGO is quoting it for?
Most likely because the seller is only quoting transport the United States and not including broker fees, customs bond, taxes, and domestic transport. TXMGO's quote is a turn-key quote with all costs included. If we have to get our broker involved, it will most likely cost significantly more than if we set up shipping.
Can a customer bring a firearm to the US in their checked luggage or vehicle?
Generally, yes. We can set things up for them to bring it into the US themselves. However, after it arrives in the US, the customer must immediately ship it to BDU, and it must transfer back through an FFL via an ATF Form 4473.
Do we handle the export license?
Generally, no. Unless otherwise agreed to, TXMGO only handles the items entering the US, not how they exit the country of export.
How much is shipping for firearms?
Generally shipping a firearm from Europe will cost at least $500 without any other fees, as it must go air freight. Firearms from other parts of the world will cost more. Typically shipping quotes are only good for 30 days, so generally we cannot quote shipping in advance.
Can firearms ship directly to a customer or local FFL?
Only antique or blackpowder firearms can ship directly to a customer. All firearms must come to TXMGO for processing before going to a local FFL for eventual transfer.
Can non-firearms ship directly to a customer?
Yes. Non-firearm items such as ammunition, parts kits, vehicles, and such can ship directly to customers without having to first go to TXMGO.
How can a customer avoid any additional or unexpected fees regarding shipping?
If TXMGO sets up the shipping, it is a turn-key solution that takes the item(s) from the shipper and through customs to TXMGO. If TXMGO does not set up shipping, we cannot predict broker fees and other misc. fees which may apply.
What is the ballpark figure on costs for an import?
Without including shipping or any other fees related to entering the country, plan to spend a minimum of $500.
How is the value of an item determined for import?
If the item is a newly purchased item, the value is based on the invoiced value of the item. If the item has not been purchased, and is instead inherited or otherwise transferred, the value is calculated based on what TXMGO would offer to purchase it from the customer for as a used gun.
How long does an import generally take?
ATF approval will generally take 45-60 days, though can also take as long as 90 days. After approval, setting up shipping of the firearm generally takes about a week.

Once an NFA item is imported for an FFL/SOT, can they then transfer it to a non-FFL/SOT?
No. Imported NFA items can only be transferred to another FFL/SOT. However, for imported NFA items besides machine-guns, an FFL/SOT can keep imported NFA items after surrendering their FFL/SOT. Imported machine-guns are treated no differently than other post-sample machine-guns and can only be kept so long as the FFL/SOT remains current.
